Today I met Mike Cowie, a member of the Learning Technology Group in CELT, and he gave me lots of useful pieces of advice. we mainly spoke about video streaming, encoding formats (he showed certain preference for encoding in Flash Video).

He talked to me about the process of uploading videos onto domino (the university lotus notes conference system) (getting a server folder, going into domino and following the intuitive widget he has scripted for uploading encoded video).

During the informal talk we were discussion mainly the following points:

  • How can a user upload video streaming in his web space?
  • What is the administrative process of getting a video streamed?
  • Are there any projects that involve video streaming within the learning technology group?

Experiences with PowerPoint Producer and Camtasia.
As far as he could tell, Camtasia Studio, an application that lets you record narrated presentations and post them as online lectures, is the trend in the LTG.
